I was born in Korea and moved to the States for studying abroad for personal and professional growth. I am a visiting artist in Metals program at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. In every moments, I am grateful for the students, instructors and the community in this area and enjoying so much creating inspirational works. The pieces are worn on body in gestural expression as a metaphor for human patterns of adaptation to difficulties in life. The pieces, made of copper and other materials and tree-like in appearance, constrain part of the body in some way and impede its free movement. Their appearance derives from Bonsai trees, which are bound with wire during their growth, to create a particular configuration.
